location: SaltSpring Island, BC
Objectives:
To create the graciousness & architectural character of a Arts & Crafts Style home, while taking advantage of a spectacular waterfront with 270° views.
Results:
The character was achieved with shakes above board & batten siding, punctuated with significant details such as shaped rafter tails, slatted gable vents, and Greene & Greene style windows & doors. The cruciform plan gives all major rooms at least two sides opening toward the view.
